Seasoning for Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage, 360g


Use this three-step kit to make fish with pickled cabbage broth. Known as suan cai yu, this is a popular dish from China’s Sichuan province.

The kit includes a fish marinade sachet, a pickled cabbage soup base and a seasoning pack to finish the dish. You can use any white fish you like.

Cooking method:

  1. Marinade your fish using the fish marinade packet mixed with 10ml of rice wine.
  2. Heat 100ml of cooking oil in a pan, add the pickled cabbage packet and stir well. Add 1 litre of boiling water and the seasoning packet and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the marinated fish fillets to the pan and boil for 3-5 minutes.

The result is a nourishing dish with tender fish and a hot-sour broth. The pickled cabbage adds layers of flavour with spicy, tangy notes.

Garnish with spring onions and serve with steamed rice.
