Sylt spiced apple, cinnamon and cardamom pickling liquid is available in two sizes:

• 500ml
• 1 litre

The brine is a warming blend of sweet apple and woodsy cinnamon. Cardamom adds pungent, pine-like notes. It’s a great match for stone fruit, strawberries and rhubarb.

Add pickled fruit to cheeseboards, crostini and salads. Pickled plums and cherries are a delicious accompaniment to pork chops and roast duck.

Beyond pickling, this spiced brine is great in sauces and vinaigrettes. Use it to make a tangy honey-mustard dressing for autumn/winter slaw. Toss it with finely shredded cabbage, carrots and red onions. Then, pile it into brioche buns with sausages or pulled pork.

You can also use it to flavour chutneys and preserves. The acidity balances the sweetness of cooked fruit.

How to use Sylt pickling liquid:

• Select and chop your produce of choice.
• Pop it in an empty jar and pour over the pickling liquid. Make sure your produce is completely submerged.
• Store in a cool, dry place for 6-24 hours.
• When your pickles are ready, keep them in the fridge for maximum longevity.
