Best Christmas Food Baubles: Unique Christmas Baubles 2026
by Holly Thomson
Discover the most interesting Christmas baubles: tiny glass oysters, croissants, jars of pickles and bunches of asparagus.
At Sous Chef, our Christmas tree tends to look rather like our dream pantry. We’ve collected Christmas tree baubles inspired by the things we love to eat and cook with, from glossy aubergines and giant olives to tinned anchovies, crispy chilli oil and a very handsome wedge of watermelon.

How to Choose Best Christmas Tree Baubles
A great Christmas tree doesn't have to look perfectly coordinated. In fact, we think it's much more interesting when it doesn't.
The best Christmas tree baubles are often collected slowly: something bought on holiday, something inherited, something ridiculous you couldn't leave behind and something that reminds you of the person who gave it to you.
When choosing new decorations, here's how we like to do it at Sous Chef:
- Choose a theme – but don't follow it too closely
Food is an excellent place to start. You could create an Italian branch with tomatoes, artichokes and olives; a seafood section with oysters, anchovies, prawns and lobster; or turn the whole tree into an edible-looking feast.
The fun comes from mixing things together rather than making everything match.
- Mix materials
Glass Christmas baubles catch the light beautifully, but a tree covered exclusively in shiny glass can feel very uniform.
Mix them with felt and embroidered decorations to add different textures and shapes. An embroidered prawn or carrot looks even better surrounded by gleaming glass vegetables and fruit.
- Look for decorations that mean something
The decorations you remember are rarely the plain ones.
Choose a croissant for the person who always orders one for breakfast, an oyster for your favourite seafood fanatic, or a chilli oil jar for the cook who pours it over everything. The more specific the bauble, the better the story.
The Best Christmas Baubles for 2026
Croissant Bauble Tree Decoration
Best Christmas bauble for Francophiles
There are few things we wouldn't improve by turning them into a croissant.
Golden, flaky-looking and satisfyingly plump, our croissant bauble brings a little Parisian boulangerie to the Christmas tree. Hang it alongside a cafetière and one of our French mice and you've practically got breakfast.
It’s a particularly good small Christmas gift for bakers, pastry lovers and the person who plans holidays around boulangeries.
Tin of Caviar Bauble Tree Decoration
Best luxury Christmas bauble
Caviar without the caviar price tag.
This tiny tin is one of our favourite luxury Christmas baubles – playful enough to make you smile, but smart enough to earn a place on a beautifully dressed tree.
Give it to the friend who thinks Christmas Eve should involve Champagne and blinis, or pair it with an oyster or lobster decoration for a particularly decadent branch.
Crispy Chilli Oil Glass Bauble Tree Decoration
Best bauble for condiment obsessives
Some people put chilli oil on everything. Those people deserve to put it on their Christmas tree too.
Our crispy chilli oil decoration turns the store-cupboard jar of the moment into a glossy glass bauble. It's unexpected, instantly recognisable and exactly the sort of decoration guests will spot from across the room.
One of our favourite funny Christmas baubles for anyone whose fridge door contains more condiments than actual food.
Oysters on a Plate Bauble Tree Decoration
Best Christmas bauble for seafood lovers
Christmas decadence in miniature.
This glass decoration recreates a plate of oysters ready for the tree. It's an excellent choice for the friend who always orders a dozen, the seafood obsessive or anyone attempting to build the world's most extravagant food-themed Christmas tree.
Add a lobster, prawn or tin of anchovies and you've got yourself a very good seafood counter.
Giant Olive Bauble Tree Decoration
Best Christmas bauble for aperitivo hour
An olive. But make it enormous.
The Giant Olive Bauble is the decoration for anyone who thinks the best part of Christmas is the drinks and snacks beforehand. It looks particularly good hanging among other glass food decorations – although we'd be tempted to dedicate an entire branch to aperitivo.
Martini drinkers: we've found your bauble.
Tin of Anchovies Glass Bauble Tree Decoration
Best Christmas bauble for ingredient nerds
Few ingredients divide a dinner table quite like anchovies. We are firmly in the more-anchovies camp.
This miniature tin celebrates one of the hardest-working ingredients in the kitchen: the salty little fillets that disappear into tomato sauces, dressings and buttery toast.
As unique Christmas baubles go, a glittering tin of anchovies is fairly difficult to beat.
Cheese Tower Glass Bauble Tree Decoration
Best Christmas bauble for cheese lovers
The cheeseboard has reached the tree.
This glass decoration stacks up cheeses in miniature form, making it an obvious Christmas gift for the person who considers Christmas dinner merely the opening act before Stilton appears.
For maximum effect, hang it somewhere near the Swiss cheese bauble. There is no such thing as too much cheese at Christmas.
Matcha Latte Glass Bauble Tree Decoration
Best Christmas bauble for matcha lovers
A miniature matcha latte for the Christmas tree – no whisking required.
Its unmistakable green makes it particularly at home among the branches, and it's a pleasingly specific gift for the friend whose morning doesn't begin until the matcha bowl comes out.
Pair it with a croissant for Christmas breakfast in bauble form.
Pickle Jar Bauble Tree Decoration
Best funny Christmas bauble
A whole jar of pickles, hanging from your Christmas tree.
Pickles have long had a curious relationship with Christmas decorations thanks to the much-debated tradition of hiding a pickle ornament on the tree. Our version takes things one step further: why settle for one pickle when you could hang up the entire jar?
Tangy, crunchy and completely inedible.
Set of 4 Mini Vegetable Bauble Decorations
Best Christmas baubles for keen cooks
For cooks who become disproportionately excited by a good greengrocer.
This set of four miniature vegetable decorations brings the produce aisle to your tree. They work brilliantly scattered among traditional baubles, particularly if you're building a collection of food decorations over time.
For the committed vegetable gardener, allotment holder or cook, they're a lovely alternative to more conventional Christmas tree baubles.
French Mouse Chef Felt Tree Decoration
Best character Christmas decoration
Not every decoration needs to be made from glass.
Our little French mouse chef brings some softer texture – and considerable personality – to the tree. The felt construction makes it a charming counterpoint to shiny glass decorations, particularly when mixed with our other food-loving French mice.
A very good gift for cooks young and old.
Yorkshire Pudding Glass Bauble Tree Decoration
Best British Christmas bauble
Finally, proof that a Yorkshire pudding belongs with absolutely everything.
This miniature glass Yorkshire pudding might be the most British decoration on the tree. Give it to the person entrusted with Christmas lunch, the roast-dinner obsessive or the relative with extremely firm opinions about whether Yorkshire puddings belong with turkey.
