Herbes de Provence combines sage, thyme, rosemary, basil and oregano. These fragrant herbs are typical of the picturesque region of Provence. The herb blend has a woodsy flavour and an intoxicating aroma. A small pinch adds French flair to all kinds of dishes.

Use this French herb mix to flavour soups, stews and roasted meats. It’s perfect for Gallic dishes like cassoulet, bouillabaisse and ratatouille. Scatter it over a pan of braised lentils or mix it into a rich tomato sauce. It’s particularly good with vegetables like tomato and aubergine.

Herbes de Provence is a store cupboard shortcut for Mediterranean flavour. Try adding it to your dough when baking focaccia or fougasse. Or, mix with olive oil, lemon and garlic to marinate fish or roast chicken.
