Guava Paste, 300g
Description
Goiabada is a thick, sweet paste made from whole ripe guavas and organic sugar. It is typically sold in large, deep red blocks and has a dense but soft texture. Dating back to colonial times, goiabada is particularly popular in Brazil and other parts of Latin America.
Goiabada has a fruity, slightly floral flavour that is tangy and sweet in equal measure. In Brazil, it is sliced thinly and served with queijo Minas (a mild white cheese). This combination is known as Romeu e Julieta because of the harmonious relationship between the cheese and the fruity conserve.
Goiabada can also be eaten on toasted bread or used as a filling for pastries and sweet empanadas. In Portugal, it is used as a sweet, fruity filling for bolo de rosas (rose cake).
Ingredients: guava pulp, organic sugar, acidulant citric acid, pectin thickener, potassium sorbate conservative. Gluten Free.
