Fabbri have captured the unmistakable flavour of amarena cherries in a smooth sauce you can drizzle over ice cream and desserts. Their amarena cherry topping is sweet and sour in equal measure, with a fresh fruity flavour. It will cut through the richness of creamy cakes and wobbly panna cottas and add a burst of cherry flavour to smoothies, yoghurt and cheesecakes. Serve some with your cheese board - it works really well with mature cheeses!
Amarena cherries are small, dark coloured cherries that grow wild in the Italian cities of Bologna and Modena. They are often gently cooked and preserved in sugar syrup, which offsets their sour flavour. In Italy, they are often used as a topping for desserts and ice cream.
