Description

The Silverwood Bakeware Silver Anodised Round Cake Tin with Loose Base is perfect for a birthday sponge, a tall Victoria sandwich, a fruit cake for Christmas, or a cheesecake you really do not want to wrestle from the tin.

It is made from silver anodised aluminium in Birmingham, by Alan Silverwood, a British bakeware maker working since 1960.

The aluminium heats fast and spreads that heat evenly, which helps cakes bake through without pale centres or scorched edges. The loose base makes release much easier, especially with soft sponges and chilled desserts.

  • Handmade in Birmingham, England
  • Silver anodised aluminium for even heat
  • Loose base for easier cake release
  • Straight sides for neat layers
  • Develops a natural non-stick patina

The anodised surface is food-safe, hard-wearing, and becomes more naturally non-stick with use.

Wash by hand in warm, soapy water, then dry fully before storing. Do not put it in the dishwasher, use oven cleaners, or cut directly in the tin. Treat it well and it should become one of those baking tins that always ends up at the front of the cupboard.

Meet the maker: Silverwood Bakeware

Silverwood bakeware is handmade in Birmingham, England, where they have been making tins since the 1960s.

Silverwood’s anodised aluminium also has a naturally easy-release surface that improves with use. A light grease is still wise, especially for sticky bakes, but this is not a coated tin that flakes or peels. It is strong, light to handle, and made to be used often.

A great choice for anyone avoiding PTFE or PFOA coatings.
