Meet the maker: Honest Toil

Honest Toil began with a little olive grove in Kyparissia, on Greece's western Peloponnese coast. When Tom Woodgate and Juli Laki found themselves helping with the local olive harvest, they fell in love with the fresh, grassy, peppery oil straight from the press. They started sharing it with friends, then selling it from a borrowed cargo bike at Berlin flea markets.

What began as a happy accident became a business built around people, place and good olive oil. Today, they work with neighbouring family farms to produce unfiltered extra virgin olive oil, pressed locally from hand-harvested Koroneiki olives. We love Honest Toil for its wonderfully down-to-earth story, its commitment to small growers and its belief that great food begins with the land.
