Fabbrica della Pasta IGP Giglio di Gragnano, 500g

Description

Gigli is a flower-shaped pasta that originated in Tuscany. La Fabbrica della Pasta’s version is larger than normal - ideal for rich sauces and ragus.

This pasta shape is rarely seen outside of Italy. It’s a great choice for dinner parties. Sauces get trapped in its frilly, ruffled edges.

Serve gigli with a creamy pea and mint sauce. You can add shards of crispy prosciutto to satisfy meat eaters. You can also toss it with porcini mushrooms cooked in butter and fresh thyme. Add a shower of Parmesan before serving.

La Fabbrica della Pasta uses traditional recipes passed down through generations. Their pasta is slow-dried at low temperatures and extruded through bronze dies, resulting in a denser, stronger pasta. This gives the pasta a rough surface that holds sauces well.

Cooking time: 5 minutes.

In 2012, La Fabbrica della Pasta became the first pasta factory to receive IGP status. IGP stands for Indicazione Geografica Protetta (Protected Geographical Indication). It is assigned to products with a quality or reputation dependent on their geographical origin.

Store in a cool, dry place.
