Description

DeOrtegas Arbequina EVOO ECO comes from a small family mill in Yecla, Murcia, run by Marcelo and Rafaela Ortega. They've grown organic olives for more than 30 years, and it shows in how fast they move at harvest time: olives are picked by hand, straight from the tree, and pressed within six hours, below 27°C. That speed is why the oil smells the way it does - green almonds, tomato, a bit of banana and apple, all before you've tasted a drop.

Pour some over sliced tomatoes and the colour hits first: a deep, intense gold. Then comes the taste — medium bitterness, a little pepper at the back of the throat, and that fresh, green-fruit character Arbequina is known for. It's balanced rather than sharp, which makes it easy to use often, not just save for special occasions.

  • 100% Arbequina olives, picked early
  • Cold-pressed same day, under 27°C
  • Low acidity: just 0.1% oleic acid
  • Organic certified through Murcia and the EU
