The Chocolate Detective’s French hen eggs are a unique gift. They’re inspired by ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’, a popular English carol. Inside, you’ll find a dozen eggs with realistic speckled shells. 

The crisp sugar shells hide a sweet surprise. Inside, you’ll find layers of milk and dark chocolate. Five eggs contain smooth salted caramel. The other five are filled with hazelnut praline.

The eggs are made in France using bean-to-bar couverture. The ethically produced cocoa comes from a large farm in Ecuador.

The recyclable boxes feature colourful bird illustrations. The artwork is by British artist and illustrator Madeleine Floyd.

She writes, “French Hens are easily recognised by their fluffy feather mufflers and the overall impression is one of excessive plumage and vanity – even their legs are feathered, and beneath the furry trousers each foot has 5 toes.”
