Description

La Sablésienne Sablé Biscuits with Earl Grey Tea pair rich, buttery French shortbread with fragrant tea and citrus notes. Bergamot gives these crumbly biscuits their distinctive aroma, while black tea from Sri Lanka adds a lightly aromatic character.

Made in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, the biscuits are baked on metal plates and selected by hand. Enjoy them alongside a cup of Earl Grey, or serve with lemon posset to complement the bergamot.

  • Buttery, crumbly French sablés made in Sablé-sur-Sarthe
  • Flavoured with Earl Grey tea and fragrant bergamot
  • Baked on metal plates and selected by hand

Meet the maker: La Sablesienne

There's something special about a really good French butter biscuit. In the little town of Sablé-sur-Sarthe, they've been making them for centuries, with a recipe said to date back to the court of Louis XIV. La Sablésienne keeps that tradition alive, baking delicate, buttery petits sablés that are wonderfully crisp and crumbly.

In 2003, Amélie Loret Scherrer took over La Sablésienne, bringing her family's pastry-making heritage and a love of beautiful things. The biscuits are still baked on metal trays and gathered by hand, then tucked into gorgeous illustrated tins inspired by French art and history. They're the sort of tins you'll want to keep long after the last biscuit has disappeared.
