Frantoio Muraglia Intense Fruity Olive Oil
Description
Frantoio Muraglia’s intense fruity olive oil is made only from Apulian coratina olives. The robust, rustic flavour of the olive oil comes from the exceptionally high levels of polyphenols in coratina olives, which lends the oil a pronounced spiciness. Expect notes of dill, fennel, pepper and artichoke in the aroma, with punchier vegetal notes in the mouth and a lingering bitter-spicy finish.
Chefs such as Luciano Matera – owner of Il Turacciolo, holder of one Michelin Bib Gourmand – use Muraglia’s intense fruity olive oil with raw vegetables and salads. But to truly enjoy the powerful flavour of this oil, Luciano heartily recommends pairing it with bean or lentil soups.
The oil is packaged in a plastic bag within a cardboard box, making it easier to pour.
Frantoio Muraglia are passionate about olives. Watching over their company is the oldest olive tree in their grove – a majestic Coratina olive tree that is at least 450 years old and still gives fruit. They’ve been growing and pressing olives in the same way for nearly five generations of the Muraglia family, and their extra virgin olive oils have won numerous awards.
No vacuum harvesting techniques used, songbird friendly.
