The original Dubai chocolate bar was invented by Sarah Hamouda in 2021. It was sold exclusively at Fix Desserts in Dubai. The filling is inspired by knafeh, a popular Middle Eastern dessert. In 2024, the bar went viral on social media, sparking a wave of imitations around the world.
