Description

Apicoltura Cazzola Chestnut, Multiflower & Eucalyptus Honey Gift Trio brings together three small jars of Italian honey from a family-run beekeeping farm in Altedo, near Bologna. It is a lovely way to taste how different honey can be, even before you start cooking with it.

  • Three Italian honeys in tasting-size jars
  • Raw virgin honey, not heat treated
  • Chestnut, multiflower and eucalyptus varieties
  • Made in Emilia-Romagna, near Bologna
  • Simple ingredient list: 100% honey

The chestnut honey is the one to open when you want something darker and more savoury, with that woodland edge chestnut honey is known for. The multiflower is the easy table honey: good on toast, yogurt, porridge, ricotta, or a spoon straight into tea. Eucalyptus honey brings a more herbal, balsamic note, which makes it especially nice in hot drinks on cold days.

It is also a good little gift for someone who likes food with a story. Three jars, three moods, and a small taste of Emilia-Romagna without needing to commit to one big pot.

Meet the maker: Apicoltura Cazzola

Apicoltura Cazzola is a nomadic beekeeping producer in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna. The beekeepers move their 300+ hives with the seasons and the flowering. It is a very direct way of following the landscape. When the flowers change, the honey changes too. Meanwhile, the honey is left as natural as possible - it isn't heat treated for example. Apicoltura's mantra is simple, and rather lovely: “Why change what nature has already made perfectly.”

The range is wide; explore the different flavours of acacia, citrus, chestnut, cherry, dandelion or linden honey for example.

We love this range, because there is real pleasure in having a few different honeys open at home. One for toast. One for cheese. One for yoghurt. One that ends up being tasted from the spoon, or stirred into a hot drink.
