Apicoltura Cazzola Cherry Honey, 250g
Description
Apicoltura Cazzola Cherry Honey is a raw Italian monofloral honey made from cherry blossom nectar in Emilia-Romagna. It has a sweet, floral taste at first, then a little fruitiness and a slight bitter edge at the end. That small twist makes it more interesting than many everyday honeys.
- Raw cherry blossom honey from Italy
- Sweet, floral, fruity, lightly bitter
- Made near Bologna in Emilia-Romagna
- Lovely with yogurt and soft cheese
- Use in tea or herbal infusions
Apicoltura Cazzola is a family beekeeping farm in Altedo, near Bologna. Their honeys are produced without heat treatment, so the flavour stays close to the blossom season it came from.
Try a spoonful over thick yogurt, on warm toast, or with fresh ricotta and walnuts. It is also beautiful stirred into chamomile or mint tea, where the cherry blossom notes come through without taking over.
Meet the maker: Apicoltura Cazzola
Apicoltura Cazzola is a nomadic beekeeping producer in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna. The beekeepers move their 300+ hives with the seasons and the flowering. It is a very direct way of following the landscape. When the flowers change, the honey changes too. Meanwhile, the honey is left as natural as possible - it isn't heat treated for example. Apicoltura's mantra is simple, and rather lovely: “Why change what nature has already made perfectly.”
The range is wide; explore the different flavours of acacia, citrus, chestnut, cherry, dandelion or linden honey for example.
We love this range, because there is real pleasure in having a few different honeys open at home. One for toast. One for cheese. One for yoghurt. One that ends up being tasted from the spoon, or stirred into a hot drink.
