Description

Apicoltura Cazzola Acacia, Sunflower & Lime Honey Gift Trio is a small tasting set of three Italian monofloral honeys from a family beekeeping farm in Altedo, near Bologna. Each 40g jar shows a different side of honey: pale, runny acacia; golden sunflower with more body; and aromatic lime honey with herbal, almost balsamic notes.

  • Three Italian monofloral honeys to compare
  • Raw virgin honey, not heat treated
  • Acacia stays light, liquid and mild
  • Sunflower is golden, creamy and fuller
  • Lime honey brings fresh herbal notes

This is a lovely little gift for someone who likes tasting things side by side. Try the acacia in tea or over yoghurt, the sunflower on toast or with firm cheese, and the lime honey in hot water with lemon. The differences are easy to spot, which makes it fun at breakfast, after dinner, or with a small cheese board.

Meet the maker: Apicoltura Cazzola

Apicoltura Cazzola is a nomadic beekeeping producer in the Bologna area of Emilia-Romagna. The beekeepers move their 300+ hives with the seasons and the flowering. It is a very direct way of following the landscape. When the flowers change, the honey changes too. Meanwhile, the honey is left as natural as possible - it isn't heat treated for example. Apicoltura's mantra is simple, and rather lovely: “Why change what nature has already made perfectly.”

The range is wide; explore the different flavours of acacia, citrus, chestnut, cherry, dandelion or linden honey for example.

We love this range, because there is real pleasure in having a few different honeys open at home. One for toast. One for cheese. One for yoghurt. One that ends up being tasted from the spoon, or stirred into a hot drink.
