Salsa romesco is an iconic Spanish sauce made with red Nora peppers, tomatoes, almonds and hazelnuts. It’s an ideal accompaniment for chicken, pork and grilled fish. In Spain, it’s served as a dip for grilled vegetables such as artichokes, cauliflower and calçots (a type of long green onion).

Try spreading salsa romesco on toasted bread or use it as a base for wraps and sandwiches. It adds rich, nutty flavour to tray bakes, soups and Spanish-inspired stews. It’s a key ingredient in the traditional Catalan seafood stew, suquet du peix.
