The Lakrids Gold liquorice is a beautiful bauble of premium liquorice, coated in white chocolate and dusted in sparkling gold. This liquorice is lightly flavoured with raspberry, which brings a tartness that works extremely well with the aniseed flavours and sweet chocolate.
These golden treats look fantastic piled high in a bowl in the middle of your table, and they make a wonderful gift for any serious liquorice lover. Lakrids liquorice comes all the way from one of the finest liquorice producers in Denmark, the home of liquorice.
In 2007, Lakrids started as the dream of Johan Bülow, who didn’t understand why liquorice was so rarely blended with other flavours. Nor why liquorice had traditionally been made using wheat flour, instead of a gluten free flour. It turns out that both are very difficult!
But with much trial and error, Johan Bülow started to produce some of the finest liquorice in the world. Lakrids liquorice is only made with gluten free rice flour, and he treats liquorice as a spice – one which enhances and perfectly complements other flavours.
Ingredients: 55% white chocolate (EU)(sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, emulsifier: soy lecithin, natural vanilla flavour), rice flour, 17% sugar, invert sugar syrup, molasses, glucose syrup, 2% raspberry (EU)(freeze-dried), 1% raw liquorice (non-EU), strawberry (freeze-dried), rapeseed oil, salt, glazing agent(carnauba wax, shellac, gum arabic) colours (carmine, beta-carotene), stabilizer: gum arabic, natural flavours. Minimum 26% cocoa solids. Gluten free.
