Taiwanese Assam black tea leaves are robust and malty, with a signature amber colour once brewed. Assam tea takes its name from its origin – the Assam region in India. This variety contains carefully selected Taiwanese tea leaves that boast a full-bodied flavour. 

Brew these Assam tea leaves with water and enjoy without milk, or blend with other varieties when making chai tea. These Assam black tea leaves also make a great base for your homemade boba tea – here’s everything you need to know about bubble tea.

Follow these instructions for brewing these Assam tea leaves at home:

  1. Suggested ratio: 1g tea leaf to 30ml water.
  2. Use 95-100℃ boiled water to brew the tea for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Make sure to strain the tea leaf without pressing it.
  4. Store in a thermal insulated container and use within 4-6 hours.
