Sarah Petherick Black Horn Yushi Shikoku Soup Spoon, 16cm

Description

The Yushi Shikoku soup spoon is made from smooth black horn. It has a shallow bowl and long, slender handle. It’s ideal for scooping prawns and noodles from your soup.

Lighter than ceramic or metal, this spoon is gentle on your crockery. Use it to eat ramen or hot and sour soup. The wide bowl keeps the broth safely inside. You can also use it to serve rice or eat congee and risotto.

Each piece is hand carved by talented craftsmen. They use waste materials that would otherwise have been discarded or destroyed. These include water buffalo horn and rosewood off-cuts from furniture makers.

Due to the natural materials used, the colour and pattern of each item may vary slightly . Each one is unique.

Not dishwasher safe.

About Sarah Petherick

Inspired by her mother’s collection of antique silver spoons, Sarah designed and launched a range of horn cutlery with British hallmarked silver. It went on to win an award for 'Outstanding Design’ presented by the British Interior Design Association in May 2003. Sarah uses 3D models, rather than drawings, to design and refine her pieces so she can visualise them in real space.
