Social Pantry's Seared Scallops With Poppy And Chia Seeds

Social Pantry shares their seared scallops canapé recipe. Diver caught scallops are always such a treat and there are so many ways to serve them. Sometimes keeping it simple is often just as good, we have served them with a simple pea puree in this recipe to suit the summer evenings.

Ingredients Serves: 4

  • 4 medium fresh scallops
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • Salt & Pepper



  1. Remove scallops from their shell, quickly rinse and pat dry.
  2. Lightly season scallops, sear in a smoking hot frying pan until light golden for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  3. Roll into the mixed poppy and chia seeds
  4. Serve with a wedge of lemon or beautifully bold pea puree.
