Panettone French Toast

We've combined buttery panettone with French toast to create an indulgent start to your day. Light Italian cake - rich with dried fruit - soaks in a spiced-egg mixture before frying for a golden, caramelised crust. Serve with plenty of honey.

Ingredients for panettone French toast Serves: 1

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Splash of milk
  • 2 slices of panettone or filone
  • Approx. 20g unsalted butter
  • Honey, to serve

Method for panettone French toast

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk the eggs with cinnamon and a splash of milk.
  2. Soak the panettone slices in the egg mixture for 5 minutes, turning them halfway.
  3. Melt a generous knob of butter in a non-stick frying pan, and fry the panettone slices until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Serve immediately with a generous drizzle of honey.
