Loison Classic Filone, 500g

Description

The Loison Classic Filone is a soft leavened fruit cake with raisins and orange. The Loison family created the recipe in 1969, putting their take on a classic Italian panfruto. Enjoy a slice with coffee at breakfast, or with a glass of sweet pudding wine and a dollop of mascarpone.

Loison have been baking panettones for over 75 years, started by Tranquillo Loison in 1938. Today his grandson Dario cares for the business. For Loison’s ‘top line’ panettones and pandoros, all the ingredients are carefully selected by Dario: the freshest eggs, butter and cream from Italy’s mountain farms, and fine Italian flours and sugar. The naturally leavened cakes and breads are made with the traditional sourdough process. Each yeasted cake takes 72 hours from beginning to end, which gives rise to their exquisite texture and rich flavour.

Ingredients: Wheat flour, fresh eggs raised on the ground, sultana raisin (10%), almond icing (9%) [sugar, egg white, sunflower oil, Italian "Tuono" almonds (28%), pre-cooked rice and wheat flour, natural flavours], sugar, butter (milk), natural sourdough yeast (wheat), candied “oranges from Sicily” peels (7%) [orange peels (52%), glucose-fructose syrup, sugar, concentrated lemon juice], grains of sugar (6%), emulsifier: mono and diglycerides of vegetable origin fatty acids, inverted sugar, fresh egg yolk raised on the ground, salt, natural flavours.
