Dried Shiitake Mushroom, 227g

Description

Shiitake mushrooms pack a huge umami punch, and they shine both as the focus of a dish as well as in stocks and garnishes.

Rehydrate the shiitake mushrooms by soaking them for a few hours in warm water or simmer for 5-10 minutes. The soaking water can then be used as a rich vegetarian stock for risottos or broths.

Once rehydrated, add shiitake mushrooms to miso soup or for flavouring glutinous rice. Try sautéing the mushrooms and add to pasta sauces to bring umami meatiness or serve as a garnish with fish and chicken dishes. You can also mince rehydrated shiitake mushrooms to use with pork and/or vegetables in dumplings. You can also use it when making pickled mushrooms for your Donburi Beef.

These shiitake mushrooms are 3-5cm in length, and this large bag will keep you well stocked. A smaller 30g pack is also available.

Ingredients: dried shiitake mushroom.
