Skeppshult Traditional Cast Iron Pancake Pan, 23cm

Description

Use Skeppshult’s traditional cast iron pancake pan to cook frilly crêpes on the stovetop. This high-quality Swedish cast iron cookware is designed to be passed down through generations of pancake lovers. The cast iron pan features a flat base for cooking your pancakes, with hand-grinded edges to prevent batter spilling onto your hob.

To use this cookware, heat the pan on your hob, then, once the cast iron is hot, pour in a thin layer of the pancake batter. Once bubbles appear on the surface, flip the pancake and cook it on the other side. Serve the pancakes warm with fresh berries and yoghurt or layer them on top of each other to create an impressive crêpe cake.

The pre-seasoned cast iron creates a naturally non-stick surface, so you can easily flip and slide your pancakes from the pan. A 5mm-thick bottom ensures even heat conduction, and the precision milled concave design means it can be used across all types of heat (including induction and gas).

This cast iron pancake pan measures 23cm.

About Skeppshult

Swedish company Skeppshult (pronounced hep-salt) has been making cast iron products by hand since 1906. The process starts with raw iron that is heated to a searing 1,500°C in the furnaces. The molten iron is then cast into special moulds, made from sand which can withstand the extreme temperatures.

Sand moulds can only be used once, and therefore each product is unique – no two items are exactly alike. Each sand mould is recycled and used for another product. Skeppshult seasons their cast iron with rapeseed oil (also called canola oil) from Osterlen to protect it from damage.
