Opinel Gardening Knife Box Set

Description

The Opinel gardening knife box set is a stunning gift for anyone with a green thumb. This set of three essential tools makes it easy to keep your garden pruned and looking its best. Every box includes:

  • 12cm Gardening Saw – make short work of thicker branches on bushes and fruit trees. The two rows of razor-sharp teeth are angled back towards the handle, so the blade glides through wood with each pull.
  • 8cm Garden Knife – a versatile knife you can use for trimming, cutting and weeding
  • 8cm Pruning & Grafting Knife – the curved blade is ideal for pruning twigs and cutting ties the right length when grafting. It’s also a perfect tool for cutting through vegetable and mushroom stems close to the ground.

The blades are all made from Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. Added chrome gives the blades exceptional resistance to corrosion, and the 0.4% carbon content gives a long-lasting sharp cutting edge.

The handles are made from painted French beechwood that’s varnished to protect against moisture. All the Opinel gardening knives fold close for easy and safe storage.

The Opinel family started as blacksmiths in Savoie, France in 1800. By 1890, Joseph Opinel had developed the first line of Opinel folding penknives, for which the company would soon become famous. In 1955, Marcel Opinel invented the Virobloc safety ring for all Opinel folding knives – a rotating ‘cap’ where the blade meets the handle, so the knife can be locked open or closed.
