La Cuna Redondo Paella Rice, 1kg

Description

Redondo paella rice is a short-grained rice variety from Valencia, the birthplace of many Spanish rice dishes. Like Bahia and Calasparra rice, Redondo rice can absorb a lot of liquid without becoming sticky. This allows it to soak up the flavours of chicken or fish stock while your paella is cooking. Redondo rice carries a Denomination of Origin (D.O.) from Valencia, which is a guarantee of its geographic origin and superior quality.

Use Redondo rice to make a traditional Spanish paella with seafood, vegetables, chicken or rabbit. Served at the table in a wide, flat paella pan, it’s a great dish for dinner parties and family gatherings. Everyone can help themselves to the crunchy toasted rice layer at the bottom of the pan. This is known as socarrat in Spain and is widely considered to be the best part of the paella!

You can use Redondo rice to make other Spanish rice dishes, such as arroz negro (flavoured with squid ink) and arroz caldoso, a soupy rice dish made with seafood and homemade fish stock. You can also use it as an alternative to arborio rice in an indulgent risotto.

Store in a cool, dry place.
