Emma Basic Japanese Curry, 200g

Description

Japanese curry is a cosy, comforting meal. With Emma Basic curry blocks, you can have dinner on the table in 20 minutes. They dissolve in hot water to create a delicious sauce.

Pair the mildly spiced sauce with crispy chicken or pork katsu. Pumpkin korokke is a great alternative for vegetarians. In Japan, cooked potatoes and carrots are added to the curry sauce. It’s served over white rice with tsukemono (pickles).

To make your curry, start by frying a diced onion in neutral oil. Add boiling water and one curry block per person. Stir until completely dissolved and simmer until the sauce has thickened.

Japanese curry is much milder than Indian or Thai curries. It’s flavoured with curry powder, onions and garlic. Add a drizzle of crispy chilli oil if you like a bit of heat. Leftover curry sauce is a delicious dip for fries and spring rolls.

The box contains eight blocks for up to eight servings of curry.

Emma Basic Japanese curry received a 1-star Great Taste Award in 2025. The cubes are free from MSG, colourings and preservatives.
