Allday Goods Maldon Original Petty Knife, 9cm

Description

This versatile kitchen knife is made from ultra-sharp carbon steel. Petty knives are small and agile - ideal for precise cuts.

Also known as paring or utility knives, petty knives can be used like a Western chef’s knife. You can use them to dice beef and break down a chicken, as well as smaller, fiddly jobs. Their small size is ideal for chopping herbs and mincing garlic and shallots.

The handle is made in Dalston, London, from waste plastic from Maldon sea salt containers. The octagonal shape and mint green colour make it a beautiful addition to your table. No two handles are the same, so each knife has its own unique pattern.

Each knife is handmade in Seki, Japan.

Note: The blade has a very thin edge and is not suitable to cut through bones or frozen food. Please store in appropriate knife storage, like blocks, knife rolls or or knife rails.

About Allday Goods

The founder of Allday Goods, Hugo, used to work as a chef in London and ran his own restaurant. After closing down his restaurant and thinking back of many friends always asking for high quality knives that don’t break the bank. After working in a professional kitchen and seeing how much plastic waste there is, Hugo thought to combine it with notoriously high quality Japanese blades. After a lot of searching and translated zoom calls, he started a collaboration with one of the best knife makers in Japan, Yoshikazu. Hugo's first knife drop was a small batch of 100 knives was announced on Instagram in March 2021, and all sold out in just over 1 minute. Their first big launch was on Kickstarter in April 2022, where they reached their funding goal in 3 hours, and have continuously been growing since.
