Skyfall Martini: The Official James Bond Cocktail

If somebody were to write a list of the best jobs in the world, then James Bond has got to be at the top. Constant danger, beautiful women, sharp suits, extraordinary cars and an ability to survive against all odds.

But, being a fictional character, some might argue that James Bond doesn’t count.  Which means that Erik Lorincz (above) is a serious contender for the number one spot in the list of top jobs.

Lorincz is the head barman at The Savoy. And being at the top of his game, he was approached by the makers of the new Bond film, Skyfall, to work as a cocktail consultant. Yes - you heard right - 'cocktail consultant'.

As if it wasn’t cool enough chatting away to the Skyfall team, advising them on the exact details of what Bond might drink, Lorincz was then commissioned to create his own version of the Vesper Martini for the premiere. So after sashaying down the red carpet, Bond beauties such as Berenice Marlohe, Naomi Harris, Helen McCrory, Rachael Weiss, Penelope Cruz rocked up to the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern to sip on a couple of Skyfall martinis, which contained the unusual addition of yuzu juice, plum wine and the Italian aperitif Cocchi Americano. Shaken, not stirred...
