Sarah Petherick Wooden and Black Horn Chopsticks, 26cm

Description

These handcrafted chopsticks will look beautiful on any dinner table. Made from smooth, polished wood and natural black horn, they are an eye-catching alternative to lacquered wood or plastic chopsticks. Use these beautiful chopsticks to eat spicy stir-fries, noodle salads or bánh xèo (Vietnamese savoury pancakes filled with prawns and bean sprouts).

Each piece is individually hand carved and finished by highly skilled craftsmen in Vietnam. The tableware is made using waste materials: rosewood off-cuts from a furniture maker and water buffalo horn that would otherwise be discarded and incinerated. Due to the natural material of the product, some pieces may have natural markings - each one is unique.

Not dishwasher safe.

Please note that while horn from water buffalo is predominantly black, it can have yellow and milky white streaks running through it, creating a marbled or two toned effect. So your product will be completely unique, and one of a kind.

About Sarah Petherick

Inspired by her mother’s collection of antique silver spoons, Sarah designed and launched a range of horn cutlery with British hallmarked silver. It went on to win an award for 'Outstanding Design’ presented by the British Interior Design Association in May 2003. Sarah uses 3D models, rather than drawings, to design and refine her pieces so she can visualise them in real space.
