Flor de sal is a delicate, flaky sea salt with an intense briny flavour. It is harvested by hand by ‘Marnotos’ (salt workers) in the Algarve region of Portugal. Flor de sal has a high moisture content which means that it melts slower when sprinkled on dishes. It is beloved by chefs around the world and typically used as a finishing salt, rather than in cooking.
