Halen Mon Pure Sea Salt in Blue Church-In-The-Sea Ceramic Jar, 100g

Description

Halen Môn’s pure sea salt in a blue ceramic jar is a wonderful gift for food lovers. Hand-harvested and organic-approved, this flaked Welsh salt has a powerful oceanic flavour and delicate crunch. You can use it during cooking or as a finishing salt to season and add texture to your dish. Scatter the salty crystals over steaks, seafood or a salad of ripe tomatoes.

Too beautiful to keep in a cupboard, the dark blue ceramic jar will look great on your table or kitchen counter. It features an illustration of Eglwys Cwyfan, a tiny church situated on a tidal island off the coast of Wales. The jar comes with a handy wooden scoop and can be refilled when the original salt has been finished.

About Halen Môn

Husband and wife David and Alison Lea-Wilson started Halen Môn in 1997 after over a decade spent running a wholesale fish and game business. Halen Môn began in the family kitchen, when a saucepan of seawater was left to boil. When they noticed salt crystals forming, they knew they were onto something special.

Based in Anglesey, they use pure charcoal-filtered seawater drawn from the Menai Strait, naturally filtered through a mussel bed and sandtank. The sea salt crystals form in shallow crystallisation tanks, and once formed, are harvested by hand.

The salt is used in Michelin-starred restaurants including The Fat Duck and was served at the London 2012 Olympics.
