Clearspring Wild Hijiki, 30g


Add Clearspring wild hijiki to soups, rice dishes and Japanese salads. This jet black sea vegetable is full of vitamins and minerals and will add colour and savoury flavour to your dishes. Hijiki grows on the ocean floor in long thin strands and has a firm texture once cooked. It’s a staple ingredient in Japanese cooking, often added to stir-fries, salads and tofu dishes.

Try mixing Clearspring wild hijiki with sushi rice to make onigiri (Japanese rice balls) or add to chilled soba noodles for a healthy lunch.

To prepare the hijiki, wash it and then soak in cool water for 30 minutes - it will triple in size! Once drained and rinsed, you can simmer it in dashi, soy sauce and mirin for a traditional Japanese side dish.

Ingredients: Dried hijiki sea vegetable (hijikia fusiforme)

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.
