Savoiardi Lady Fingers, 200g
Description
Vicenzi's classic Italian Savoiardi biscuits are the original Italian ladyfinger biscuits, made in Verona. Vicenzi were the first producer to receive certification, and make their biscuits with only natural ingredients. Savoiardi biscuits are most famous as one of the main ingredients for tiramisu and trifles. For a tiramisu, wet the biscuits in coffee and marsala and layer with mascarpone and cream. Top with grated dark chocolate.
In English, the biscuits are known as ladyfingers for their long thin shape. However, in Italian they are savoiardi after the famous gift from the Savoys of Savoia - one of the oldest royal families in the world - to the King of France in the fifteenth century. In French, they are known as biscuit à la cuillère or teaspoon biscuits.
The Vicenzi savoiardi biscuits contain no added fats (except from fresh eggs), and no artificial flavourings, colours or preservatives. The pack contains two individually wrapped portions to keep the biscuits fresh and crunchy.
Ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, fresh eggs 26%, glucose syrup, raising agents (ammonium hydrogen carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, disodium diphosphate), natural flavourings. Vegetable oils used to oil the baking trays only. Produced only with pasteurised fresh whole eggs. Contains gluten & eggs.
