Description

Poon’s WO sauce is a reinvention of traditional Chinese XO sauce, first invented in 1980s Hong Kong and considered one of the most luxurious flavours in Chinese cuisine. Made with salted shrimp and home-dried bacon, WO sauce is made using an old Poon’s family recipe.

Serve WO sauce with steamed fish, simple noodle dishes, grilled meats and egg-fried rice. The deeply earthy, savoury flavour is also fantastic as a dipping sauce – simply loosen with a little soy sauce and rice vinegar.

About Poons 

Poon’s Sauces was founded by Amy Poon, daughter of Bill Poon, renowned for his iconic Covent Garden Poon’s restaurant of the 1970s. Restaurants are in Amy’s blood - her grandparents also ran a successful Macau restaurant, and her distant relatives were chefs to Chinese emperors.
