Perello Capers in Salt, 75g


Capers in salt are a popular ingredient in many Mediterranean dishes. Used chopped or whole, they add a burst of tangy, salty flavour to salads, sauces and fish dishes. Try scattering them over devilled eggs or smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels.

Capers are the unopened flower buds of the caper bush which are dried in the sun and preserved in salt. They are small and firm with a bright, floral flavour that works beautifully with fish and seafood. Combine them with butter, garlic, parsley and lemon zest to make a classic sauce for white fish or chicken. Chopped finely, they are a delicious addition to potato salad and tartare sauce.

Rinse or soak the capers in cold water before use to reduce their saltiness.
