Description

Loison’s classic Veneziana is a traditional Italian cake with its roots in Venetian culinary history. It has a sweet, bread-like texture similar to panettone. The dough is enriched with fresh Italian butter, Mananara vanilla from Madagascar and a blend of fine spices which give the cake its unmistakable aroma and flavour. It’s covered in sweet icing and garnished with almonds and granulated sugar.

The Veneziana dates back to the 15th century and is traditionally eaten at Christmas and on New Year’s Eve. Over time, it became popular to bake a smaller version to enjoy as a breakfast pastry. Enjoy a slice with your morning coffee or serve it after dinner with a glass of sweet dessert wine.

Loison’s exquisite wrapping features images of some of the most recognizable symbols of Venice: the Carnival masks, the Lion of St. Mark and the gondolas in the Grand Canal.
