Sablé biscuits originated in Sablé-sur-Sarthe in the west of France. This is where La Sablésienne’s biscuit factory makes its traditional butter cookies. Gold in colour, the biscuits have a scalloped edge and crumbly texture.
Tonka beans have a complex flavour with notes of spice and vanilla. It gives these biscuits a subtle hint of caramel and cinnamon. You can taste the richness of French butter in every bite.
