Description

Dashi is the cornerstone of Japanese cuisine. The umami-rich broth forms the base of soups, stews and sauces. It has a sweet-savoury flavour that adds depth and complexity. 

Emma Basic dashi is made with dried stock made from kelp and shiitake mushrooms. Gluten-free soy sauce adds to its rich, savoury flavour. It’s free from preservatives and MSG.

Traditional dashi contains bonito flakes (thin shavings of dried fish). This version is plant-based, making it a great choice for vegan and vegetarian recipes.

Add a splash to stir fries with tofu and leafy greens. Or, use it as the base for dipping sauces. In Japan, dashi is mixed with soy sauce and mirin to make tentsuyu. This light sauce is served with tempura and soba noodles.
