Organic coconut flour is faintly sweet and very nutritious thanks to its naturally high fibre content. It is a gluten-free flour, making it perfect for coeliac diets. The flour can be used in a similar way to other grain-based flours, such as baking, pancake-making, thickening gravies and soups.
Coconut flour is a particularly dry and absorbent flour, meaning that it requires a different moisture ratio to other grain-based flours. It is a great way of increasing the fibre of dishes though - even substituting 10% to 20% of the flour in a recipe with coconut flour can increase the levels of nutritiousness. Great for brownies, coconut flour bread, gluten-free cupcakes and muffins.
