Ume shiso furikake is a dry garnish, flavoured with Japanese ume plums and shiso leaves. The furikake is most often used to flavour a bowl of plain rice, adding delicious flavour and flecks of colour. The traditional Japanese flavours of this ume shiso furikake also introduces a delicious fruitiness from the plum paste with herbal shiso notes. As well as sprinkling some a tablespoon of the ume shiso furikake over rice, it can also be used to garnish a bowl of noodles, tofu side dish – or even for a Japanese twist to a bowl of popcorn.
