Short Dated Sweet Bean Sauce, 300g

Description

Sweet bean sauce is a thick, dark sauce used in Chinese cooking. Equal parts sweet and savoury, it adds an umami kick to your dishes. It is perfect for stir-fries and braising dishes. Its sweet-salty flavour also works well with chicken and tofu.

This sauce is a key ingredient in zha jiang mian, a noodle dish from northern China. Minced pork is fried with chopped garlic and ginger before the sauce is added. 

Or use it in a stir-fried dish, such as fried sliced pork belly with black garlic and baby leek.
