Description

Mori-Nu extra firm silken tofu is a great addition to your store cupboard. This smooth, solid block made from soybean is a great high-protein meat substitute. This extra-firm variety is firmer than regular silken tofu, yet maintains the creamy smooth texture. It can be cut into cubes with a knife and still hold shape. This makes it ideal for adding into curries, stir-fries and soups. Like its softer variety, it also works well as a dairy alternative in creamy sauces and desserts. Silken tofu is a key ingredient in many Asian dishes, as it absorbs the flavour it is cooked in. This means it works well with big flavours of chillies, ginger or Sichuan peppercorns. Deep-fry it for a crispy shell that keeps a soft, creamy middle. 

Silken tofu is also known as soybean or soyabean curd, soft tofu, kinugoshi in Japanese or sundubu in Korean.
