Kuma Matcha Bowl & Whisk Set

The Kuma matcha gift set is elegant and understated. Made in Japan, it has everything you need to prepare green tea in the traditional way.

Whisk matcha powder in the deep bowl until it's light and frothy. The bowl is glazed in a dark shade of brown. Kuma means ‘shade’ or ‘shadow’ in Japanese.

Matcha is a finely ground green tea powder. It has been enjoyed as part of the Japanese tea ceremony for hundreds of years. Rich in antioxidants, it is said to boost brain health and relieve stress.

For one serving of tea, use the chashaku to measure two scoops of matcha powder into the bowl. Add a splash of hot water and use the whisk to make a paste. Top up with approximately 70ml of hot, not boiling, water. Use the matcha whisk in a vigorous ‘W’ motion until the matcha becomes very frothy. Enjoy immediately.
