Puglian Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Blue Splatter Ceramic Bottle, 500ml

Description

This extra virgin olive oil in a blue splatter ceramic bottle is from one of Italy’s oldest olive-growing regions, and doubles up as a piece of art for your kitchen. The dark blue painted effect will stand out on any kitchen worktop, and looks smart with its red wax seal and Galantino ribbon. It makes a great gift

The olive oil is cold-pressed on traditional stone mills by the Galantino family, who have been producing oil for nearly a century. The oil has a medium-fruity flavour, with aromas of artichokes and green, herbaceous notes. It has warming peppery afternotes, and a lingering hint of almond.

Use the oil to dress crispy salad leaves, sun-ripened tomatoes or meltingly soft burrata. Or combine with a good balsamic for a classic Mediterranean vinaigrette.

Each jar is lovingly decorated by hand, so you’ll find every bottle is unique and has its own character.

Galantino is based in the town of Bisceglie, Puglia – the region that produces more olives than any other in the world. The medieval town is steeped in history, perched on the Adriatic coast and surrounded by ancient olive groves. Galantino’s oil is renowned for its quality and consistency, and holds protected status (PDO). The family olive mill has been pressing oil since 1926, and is run today by the third generation. All their olives are carefully selected and washed before being crushed on traditional stone mills.

How to open

These ceramic bottles are corked and can be opened with a traditional T-shaped wine corkscrew. The bottle's cork is much shorter than a regular wine bottle, so only a couple of screws are needed to get a firm grip. Pull out in a controlled and slow movement. If the cork breaks, Cork Stopper will allow for a controlled pour and to preserve the oil.

Storage: Keep away from heat and direct sunlight.
