Dried fruits can be frozen very easily. However, repeated freezing, defrosting and re-freezing will cause the textures and flavours to deteriorate. For the best results, portion your dried fruits into freezer bags. Squeeze out as much air as you can before sealing the bag - if you have a vacuum sealer, so much the better! Then place the bags of fruit into a freezer-safe container with a tight-fitting lid before placing in the freezer. Dried fruits will last for around 12 months in the freezer.

Which Dried Fruits Are High In Iron?

The dried fruits that are highest in iron are dried dates, dried apricots and prunes. 100g of each of these dried fruits contains between 10% and 20% of your recommended daily iron intake. Even raisins are high in iron, with 100g containing 5% of your recommended daily iron intake.
