Terre Exotique’s shichimi togarashi spice blend is a beautifully balanced mix of cayenne pepper, powdered orange, sesame seeds, Batak berry, ginger and seaweed. It has bright citrus notes, with all the nutty sweetness of sesame and earthy seaweed. This is a seasoning that touches all your taste buds and really brings dishes to life.

Shichimi togarashi would be traditionally blended on the street in Japan, with customers requesting different quantities of ingredients for bespoke blends. Shichi is seven in Japanese, describing the required number of ingredients in the traditional blend.

Use your shichimi togarashi to add heat and flavour to noodle broths, ramen, steamed green veg or sprinkle it over sushi rolls and sashimi.

The company was founded by Erwann de Kerros, a Breton and seasoned traveller.
