Note from Sous Chef Team: This cake isn't as light and airy as a classic panettone - the bake has a firmer texture, like a French spiced pain d'epice. And so we particularly enjoy it toasted as a sweet bread to serve with pâté - like the classic French pain d’epices. Or grilled and served with cream, ice-cream and custard as an after dinner treat.
